PARA 2008: Author Information

The PARA 2008 proceedings have suffered many unfortuante delays, but is now scheduled to be published in two volumes, LNCS 6126 and 612 7 in late 2010.

Conference submission system now available at

(this system is just this year used by 780 conferences and events, including CCGrid 2008 and HetroPar'08.)

Short abstract and title submissions:

  • Create a user account according to the instructions on the PARA 2008 EasyChair webpage if your do not already have one
  • If not a general submission, look for the Poster track or your Minisyposium track once inside the PARA 2008 submission site
  • Cut and paste abstract into EasyChair submission window
  • Add key words
  • Add yourself to the PARA 2008 mailing list at: PARA 2008 - mailing list webpage

    Extended abstract information

    We will provide a copyright form for publishing the abstracts and/or extended abstracts in on our website and/or our "book of abstracts" available at the conference.

    Springer will for the final full paper require their own copyright form and .pdf files as well as .tex source files (Detailed instructions to be posted later re. instructions for accepted full papers.) Extended abstract should be 3-4 pages in Springer LNCS format. Springer LNCS Author link has detailed instructions summarized as needed for PARA 2008 here:

  • Follow the guidelines outlined in Springer's LNCS type instructions
  • You can use typeinst.tex Springer LNCS' type instructions source file as a template
  • Min. no. of pages for PARA 2008 extended abstract: 3
  • Max. no. of pages for PARA 2008 extended abstract: 4
  • Upload .tex source file to Easychair (Minisymposia contributors -- look for your minisymposium track)
  • Upload PDF

    General Submissions

    As indicated by the above deadlines, PARA 2008 accepts proposals in form of extended abstracts for papers to be presented at the conference under its general theme.

    The "regular papers" ( max. 10 pages ) will be reviewed by the Programs Committee and/or people we recruit as reviewers. Upon acceptance, you will be required to register for the conference and submit the full paper in early May in order to be part of the program . A book of abstracts will be available at the conference.

    Full papers of max. 10 pages will be reviewed by 3 reveiwers for inclusion in the Springer LNCS Series. Most MS papers have now been evaluated and camera-ready versions uploaded.

    Information for Minisymposia Organizers and Participants

    PARA 2008 has also invited several respected members of our field to organize Minisymposia (MS) in connection with the Workshop.

    The MS Organizers will invite and/or solicit contributions for their symposia. Announcements for each MS is available in a link from the Minisymposia (MS) webpage, where available (updated continuosly).

    It is up to the MS Organizers to select the presentations given in their Minisymposia.

    Requirements for speakers in the Minisymposia are the same as for General Contributions:

  • Submit title and abstracts/extended abstracts via the PARA submission page
  • Register for the conference
  • submission of the full paper in early May in order to be part of the program .
  • Presentation at the conference in order to be considered for the LNCS Proceedings
